Alexander the Great doesn't deserve the title because he was in fact could not control his longing for military power. Although, accomplishing many great things during his ruling his lack of self control and being a know alcoholic he couldn't contain his anger. He actually killed his friend over a small argument. So no, in my opinion due to his lack of self control and terrible decision making skills he doesn't deserve the title of "the Great"
