In many or most animals, females are larger than males. most animals are insects and in many insects, females tend to be much larger than males because they are under strong selection for producing large numbers of eggs, and larger females can produce more eggs. is this an example of sexual selection?

Respuesta :

The  above is  not  an  example  of   sexual  selection  because  sexual  selection  is  about differential success  in  acquiring males. In  sexual  selection  one  biological  sex  chose mates  of  other   sex  to  mate with. and  compete  with  members  of  the  same  sex for  access of  members  of  opposite  sex

This type of scenario is not an example of sexual selection. Sexual selection is really just about the differential success that is found when someone or something is trying to acquire a mate.
