What were the defining characteristics of skeletal muscle? what is unique about the nuclei that support the function of skeletal muscle?

Respuesta :

Skeletal muscle is a kind of striated muscle (along with cardiac muscle) wherein it is controlled voluntarily. Muscle cells or fibers that comprise skeletal muscle are single multinucleated cells (meaning one cell has more than one nuclei). Skeletal muscle fibers are multinucleated because of the result of fusion of multiple muscle cells to for fibers.

Attached is a photo comparing skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle, and smooth muscle.
