Opponents wanted to overturn the laws because:

  • They were against human rights and were inhuman

Jim Crow laws are those laws which were put in place in order to enforce segregationist laws so that the blacks in America would continue to be victimized by the whites.

As a result of this, we can see that people opposed these laws in the form of the civil rights movement during the 1950s to bring an end to these evil laws because they were inhuman and cruel.
