To find the slope of line v, divide the change in y-values by the change in x-values:

17 - 10 / 1 - 9
7 / - 8

Slope of line v = -7/8

Now, slopes of perpendicular lines are negative reciprocals of each other, therefore:

The slope of line w = 8/7
