I truly believe that the 20th century in the US is a Gilded age because we have had such unrest in several aspects of everyday living; just look to the racial unrest and even more the political unrest. We all SEEM to be moving forward, but it's almost as if we are regressing in the areas that actually matter (i.e. issues regarding race, gender, politics, etc.).
