The most successful government agency during that particular time was the food administration which was run by Herbert Hoover. Hoover was an engineer, businessman and politician who was elected the 31st president of the US. He served from 1929-1933 during the Great depression. During WWI, the US enacted the Food Administration as an agency that would be responsible for giving out food to the US military that was serving overseas as well as to the allies. One of the most important things it was to do was to stabilize the price of wheat in the US market.
