The unity of the speaker and his beloved
Neruda's Love Sonnet 17 is one of 100 sonnets Neruda wrote about love. In this sonnet, the speaker expresses his love for a woman, which is consuming and deep. The speaker starts off my by expressing that his love for the woman is not comparable to his love for a color, shape or external object. He loves what is not visually observable or tangible, he loves what is within and unseen.
