It was a NEW building, painted YELLOW, with a SHINGLED roof that was not like the RED TILE of the school in Mazatlán. 

This is the only sentence with adjectives to describe what she saw.


The descriptive language is use to bring a scene, a picture a smell a feeling, the idea is to connect the reader to what the author want to transmit to make her/him feel the same way or visualize the same, in this case the option “It was a new building, painted yellow, with a shingled roof that was not like the red tile of the school in Mazatlan” evoke in the reader the picture of the building that is being describe.
