During the Gilded Age, capitalism and industrialization spread in the United States rapidly. This impacted the American public in the following ways:

More immigrants entering in the United States
The economy moved from an agricultural economy to an industrialized one
More wealth for Americans
Improved  and advanced technology and production processes
Overall urbanization
Improvement in general quality of life
Growing number of corporations

The best description of the effect that capitalism and industrialization had on the American public during the Gilded Age was that it brought three things to the American public, namely:

- New conveniences

- Reasonably priced consumer goods

- Relatively steady pay

In general, as a result of these three things, Americans were better off than most of the world.
