to find 'x', we have to cross multiply the numbers.
$215 \times 35$
and
$100 \times x$
this will get you
$7525 = 100x$
to get 'x', we have to divide by 100 on each side
$\frac{7525}{100} = \frac{100x}{100}$

your answer will be
$75.25 = x$
so, Chris must raise 75.25 dollars by himself
