why does the mass of an object remain constant regardless of it's location

Mass is a property of matter that is independent of gravitational pulls and pushes. If a ball with a mass of let's say 13 kg, were to be put on Mars or in the Mariana Trench, the mass would still stay the same. Hope this helps!
