I believe the answer is joshua was buried there
Joshua was burried in the Ephraim. which located on the northern direction of Mount Gaash.
Due to it's location, many historians initially having a hard time determining where Joshua was burried. But after they found the tomb, it became one of the most visited tourist destination in that country.
