Stratum Basale, being the deepest stratum of skin, will be supplied with the highest levels of oxygen from the blood. The Stratum Basale is constantly renewing and must be supplied with oxygen in order to keep renewing. The other stratus are more superficial and further from the blood source and also do not require quite as much oxygen.
The layer of epidermis that is supplied with the highest levels of oxygen from the blood is called the stratum basale.
The mammalian skin forms a continuous layer over the entire body, making it the largest organ.
The skin consists of two main layers:
- the epidermis and
- the dermis.
The epidermis is the most superficial layer of the skin. it is equally made up of several layers (strata) of cells which extends from the deepest germinative layer (stratum basale) to the surface stratum corneum.
Because the stratum basale ( germinative layer) is the layer that's closest to the blood supply lying underneath the epidermis. This makes it the layer of the epidermis that will be supplied with the highest levels of oxygen from the blood.
