In the Linnaean taxonomic system, the organisms are classified according to the relationships and similarities among organisms while in Phylogenetic systematics or cladistics, organisms are classified according to similarities in morphology, genetic differences and biochemical data.
Linnaean taxonomy organizes living things based on genetic traits and evolutionary history, whereas Cladistics uses a fixed number of clades, or branches, by which organisms are classified.
