Endurance athletes and strength building athletes can both damage their muscles, just in different ways, so both need protein. And they both need equivalent portions of protein whilst training. :)
Athletes in endurance sports need more protein than athletes attempting to
build strength.
This is because endurance activities involves the use of the muscles at a
higher intensity than those who wants to build strength. The muscles are
usually built by the intake of substances rich in protein.
This is however done to make sure that the muscles are adequately built to
withstand the pressure from the activities and reduce serious injuries to the
body.
