Marla says that only one person was really responsible for the theory of planetary motion. Do you agree with her? Why or why not?

Respuesta :

Sample Response: I disagree with her because it took several people hundreds of years to arrive at the current model. Kepler developed his planetary laws on Copernicus's heliocentric model with Brahe's data. Newton based his universal law of gravitation on Kepler's work and Hooke's ideas.

I strongly disagree with her. This is because a lot of people contributed to the theory of planetary motion.

  • Knowledge does not originate with one person. For Kepler to be able to arrive at his own conclusion, he must have learnt and studied from other.

There are people who contributed to the theory of planetary motion directly or indirectly. some includes Nicolaus Copernicus who through his observation stated that the planets revolve around the Sun.

K Tycho Brahe also contributed indirectly. Others are, Aristotle who viewed the earth as stationary.

Conclusively, Kepler's published the laws of planetary motion which shows that planets orbits around the Sun.
