Why is cellulose considered to be a complex carbohydrate?
A- It is composed of a complex arrangement of glucose molecules.
B- It is composed of a long straight chain of glucose molecules.
C- It is composed of a complex arrrangement of chitin molecules.
D- It is composed of two carbon molecules joined with a double bond.

Respuesta :

A.
(It is not B, as straight chains are due to hydrocarbon chains, which are found in polymers of lipids [fats])
(It is not C, as Chitin itself is a polysaccharide - so that just wouldn't make sense)
(It is not D, as this would technically be describing unsaturated fats... but not really. there are no double carbon bonds within carbs.)
