Explain what the two bar graphs covering aircraft manufacturing on the previous slide tell you about US wartime production compared to that of Germany and Japan. Why do you think this is the case?

Respuesta :

Germany and Japan both made more aircraft than the US in 1939.The United States was making far more aircraft than Germany and Japan combined by the end of the war.The United States had a huge production advantage by the end of the war.The United States had not fully mobilized for wartime production in 1939.Japan and Germany may have suffered war damage that hurt their production.

The bar graphs most likely show that:

  • U.S. aircraft production was less than Germany and Japan when WW2 started
  • U.S. aircraft production was larger than Germany and Japan by the end of WW2

When the war first started, Germany and Japan had been preparing for war which meant that they were producing a high number of aircraft as opposed to the United States which was neutral.

As the war continued, the U.S. production of aircraft passed that of Germany and Japan because:

  • The U.S. had a lot of resources to use to produce aircraft
  • Germany and Japan were suffering resources shortages from Allied blockades
  • Germany and Japan had many facilities destroyed by allied bombing.

In conclusion, U.S. aircraft production got better throughout the war whilst Germany and Japan saw a decline.
