4x + 6y = 12

We want to change our equation into y=mx+b form :)
Where m = slope, and b = y-intercept.
In order to change it into slope intercept form (which is also y=mx+b form), we need to get x onto the other side of the equal sign.
To do this, simply subtract 4x from both sides.
4x + 6y -4x = 12 - 4x
Simplify.
6y = -4x + 12
Then, divide both sides by 6.
6y ÷ 6 = (-4x + 12) ÷ 6
Simplify.
y = -4/6x + 12/6
Simplify.
y = -2/3x + 2
Remember : y = mx+b, where m = slope
-2/3 is in the "m" spot, therefore, -2/3 is your slope.
