Sally and suzie are selling tickets for their school fundraiser suzie has sold 12 more than twice the number of tickets sold by Sally together the girls have sold a total of 72 tickets write an expression to represent the number of tickets sold by Sally and then write an expression to represent the number of tickets sold by suzie. then write an equation to model the total number of tickets sold how many tickets did each girl sell?

Respuesta :

This is what I think the answer is:

First divide 72 by 2 because Suzie has 12 MORE than TWICE of Sally.
72 / 2 = 36

Now we have 36. Subtract the 12 more from 36 to get Sally's amount of tickets.
36 - 12 = 24

Your expression to represent the number of tickets sold by Sally is:
(72 / 2) - 12

Your expression to find Suzie's tickets is:
(72 / 2) + 12

Your equation for Sally is:
(72 / 2) -12 = 24

Your equation for Suzie is:
(72 / 2)+ 12 = 48

Last but not least, is our answer correct?
Well lets check
Add 48 and 24. What do you get?
72.
Hope this helps! :3
