The order of flow of the blood from aorta to right hand thumb is:
Arch of the aorta
Brachiocephalic trunk
Subclavian artery
Axillary artery
Brachial artery
Radial artery
Further explanation
The aorta is the largest artery in the human body. Sourced from the left ventricle of the heart and carry oxygenated blood to all parts of the body in the systemic circulation.
The initial part of the aorta, the ascending aorta, emerges out of the left ventricle, which is sequestered by the aortic valve. Both coronary arteries of the heart branch off from the base of the aorta, above the aortic valve.
The aorta then curls back around the pulmonary artery. Three blood vessels emerge from this arcus aortae, the brachiocephalica artery, the carotid communis artery sinistra artery and the subclavian artery artery. These vessels supply blood to the head and arms.
The aorta then descends the body. The upper part of the diaphragm (in the chest) is called the aorta pars thoracalis and the lower part of the diaphragm (in the abdomen) is called the aorta pars abdominal.
As it moves down the posterior abdominal wall, the abdominal aorta circulates to the left of the inferior vena cava, branching into the main blood vessels in the stomach and intestines, and also the kidneys. There are many branch forms that can be identified in the vasculature of the digestive system. The most common form is the aortic branch forming the truncus celiacus, superior mesenteric artery, and also the inferior mesenteric artery. The renal artery usually branches from the abdominal aorta between the celiacus truncus and the superior mesenteric artery.
The aorta ends with branching 2, the iliaca communis sinistra artery and the iliaca communis dextra artery to supply blood to the lower limbs and pelvis.
