genes and the environment can affect an organisms traits

Answer:

An organism's trait can be affected by sex and environment.

Explanation:

A trait or character may be defined as the feature of an individual organism. A trait can be a quantifiable measurement of a particular character of an organism.

Factors that can affect the organisms trait are as follows:

Sex: Sex can influence the trait of an organism. Some traits are present in single sex, these traits are known as sex limited traits (milk production). Sex influenced traits like male pattern baldness is controlled by autosomal alleles.

Environment: Environmental factors like light, temperature can also effect the organisms trait. For example: In case of Himalayan rabbit the allele responsible for the pigmentation is active only at the temperature below 30°C.
