Let n =  the number of shovels.

Total selling price = $7,300
Total cost = $5,500

Total profit = $7300 - 5500 = $1,800
Because the profit is $50 per shovel, therefore the total profit is $50*n.
That is,
50n = 1800
n = 1800/50 = 36

Answer: 36
