You would need 3 cans of frosting

First, change the denominator to 6:
1/3 = 2/6

Next you'd divide:
(I got 6/6 because its the whole top of the cake.)
6/6 ÷ 2/6 = 3/1
3/1 = 3

That would mean you need 3 cans of frosting
