Here is the solution:
x=[tex] \frac{1}{2} [/tex]
let's multiply both sides by 6 (for no reason! just because we can!)
6x=3
we can now add "4x" to both sides (rememebr, you can do anything to an equasion as long as it doesnt changes something fundamental (so don't divide by variables)
6x+4x=3+4x
10x=3+4x
