Acids and bases dissociate in water into their original positive and negative ions. A strong acid/base would completely dissociate while a weak acid/base would partially dissociate.
Note: s stands for solid, l stands for liquid and g stands for gas.

(1) HF:
HF is an acid that dissociates in water as follows:
HF (g) .......> H+ + F-

(2) Ba(OH)2:
Ba(OH)2 is a base that dissociates in water as follows:
Ba(OH)2 (s) ........> Ba2+ + 2OH-

(3) HNO3:
HNO3 is an acid that dissociates in water as follows:
HNO3 (l) ........> H+ + (NO3)-
