Help me solve this equation please. y/9 + 5 = 0

y/9 +5 =0

 subtract 5 from each side

y/9 = -5

 multiply both sides by 9

y = -5 * 9

y = -45

Multiply all 3 terms by 9 to remove the fraction 1/9:

y + 45 = 0.  Then y = -45.
