The Selma March wanted to emphasize the issue of voter discrimination.
Selma March was also known as the Selma to Montgomery March. It constitutes a political march from Selma, Alabama, to the state’s capital, Montgomery, that took place March 21–25, 1965. It was led by Martin Luther King, Jr. The march marked the end of several tumultuous weeks during which demonstrators twice sought to march but were stopped, once violently, by local police.
