Psychodynamic theories and approaches always look at the underlying mechanisms that might be unconsciously affecting individuals and groups that can be used to explain actions and beliefs. This approach takes a deeper look at the individual than many approaches, which may use a more surface-level, behavioral tack to explaining actions.
