If you are given the volume of a cube, take the cubic root of the volume to find the edge of the cube.
edge = cubic root of 64 cm^2 = 4 cm
Since we now know the edge, we can find the area of a square face.
A = side^2 = (4 cm)^2 = 16 cm^2
Each face of the cube has an area of 16 cm^2.
The area of the square hole in the toy is 8 cm^2, so the block will not fit in the square hole.
