Gravey was born in Jamaica, was a speaker for the Black Nationalism and pan-Africanism, to which end he establishedthe Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League. Garvey propelled a Pan-African logic which motivated a worldwide mass development, known as Garveyism.
