According to Creon's argument, he believes the king (human leadership) holds the ultimate power. If men don't obey royalty, then there life is ruined. None of his subjects, especially a female one, should ever disrupt his leadership and exercise of power. He also believes that the city's leadership is to blame for any ruin that falls upon a city - (in his mind) they should've prevented it.
