An important element that explanatory writing should employ in order to create credibility with the readers is deductive reasoning. An explanatory writing is of course a writing that focuses on in depth explanation on a certain matter. Deductive reasoning is a top-bottom reasoning in which a big idea is further discussed into sub parts until fully explained.
