Bariatric surgery is a surgery created to help one lose weight. The set-point theory says that the body’s regulatory controls help a person maintain a specific body weight as time goes on. Bariatric surgery works to establish a new set-point by altering body weight and establishing weight loss results.
Set point theory implies the probable results of bariatric surgery that it will not occur in long term weight loss because after the surgery the body will hold change and attempt its set point.
The set point theory maintains that a person’s body will struggle to sustain that particular weight limit. Every individual, male or female, has a set point, and since the individual have no control over eye color, hair color or stature, in the similar way we don't have any command over our set point.
