The increase of the trade between Europe and the rest of the World started in 1000s AD. During this period the population for the first time was growing since the fall of the Roman empire. Farmers were cultivating crops in a better way than before also artisans were indulged in making cloth and metal products. Nobles during this period wanted to gain luxury items like silks, dyes, sugar, and spices, which led the merchants(European) to carry goods in exchange for luxury products. The increase of the trade led rise to trading centers in Europe like Venice and Flanders.
