Metaphor is one of the figures of speech that compares two or more subjects without the use of the words "like", "just" and others, the way it is being used in simile. Metaphor shows a direct comparison between subjects without those terms. The first stanza of the poem
" Huswifery" by Edward Taylor used the figure of speech metaphor in order to create a comic effect through comparison. It can be read that the comparison of different subjects are being shown in the first stanza maybe to add spice to the poem.
