Ethnic separatism can be defined as the desire by a group of
people to form their own country based upon certain common features. This separatism
can be based on several common factors such as religion, governmental, gender
or racial. It is nothing but the urge to have greater autonomy regarding every
sphere of life. Some critics may be of the opinion that such separatism is not
good for the people but it is true that governmental oppression has led several
communities to go for ethnic separation.
