solving two-step equations 5x+8=23

You have to subtract 8 from the left and then 8 from the right. If you do that then you'll have 5x=15. 
Then you divide "x" by 5 and 15 by 5.
X=3

Subtract the 8 from both sides and you’d have 15 then divide the 5x from both sides and x=3
