The looking glass-self is a term coined by Charles Horton Cooley to refer to the process by which our self develops through internalizing others' reactions to us. This means that a person's self grows out of a personÂ´s social interactions with others, which explains the teacher's behavior when they witnessed Phoebe's harassment.
