why might the framers have included standards in the constitution that each territory must meet before it can become a state

Respuesta :

Framers of the constitution most likely included requirements to meet before becoming a state to ensure that the state would be succesful. If the US just accepted statehood for any territory without seeing if it could establish a population of individuals with local laws and court systems, then there would be a good chance that the states did not have success. Along with this, requirements were also a good idea to prove that the territories trying to become a state were dedicated to the ideals of the US and our form of government.

Answer:

Federalism is the system where the National and State governments share power.

Since states evolved from several colonies with diverse population and needs, the framers adopted "The Northwest Ordinance" in the times of the "Articles of Confederation" around 1787, to set the approach for the admission of new states into the confederation and protect civil liberties based on the general vision of the country as one, and to establish equitable policies for the settlement and political inclusion of the American territories in order to foster the American frontier and accelerate the westward expansion.
