Even though you made up the equation, I'll solve it as an example:
2x - 3 = 6(x-5)
2x - 3 = 6x - 30 (add 3 to each side)
2x -3 + 3 = 6x - 30 + 3
2x = 6x -27 (then you subtract 6x from each side, u have to put both "x" on the same side)
2x- 6x= -27
-4x = -27 (divide -4 from each side)
x = 27/4
