is called the power of a power property

hope this helps, Buddy

The property that allows you to multiply the exponents, (xa)b = xab, is called the power of a power property.

The power of a power property states that in case you have a power raised to a power, then you can multiply the two exponents. The exponent you have will determine how many times to multiply numbers together.

Further Explanation

For example 5^2 means you should multiply 5 times 5, this also implies you will multiply 5 two times.

5^5 means five should be multiply 5 times, this implies 5x5x5x5.  For you to use the power of the base, then you would multiply the two powers together.

For example (x ^ y) ^b = x ^ yb or (ab) c=abc

These are more examples of exponential property

(4^4)^3 = 4^4x3 = 4^12 = 4x4x4x4x4x4x4x4x4x4x4x4 = 1048576.

(3^4)^2 = 3^4x2 = 3^8 = 3x3x3x3x3x3x3x3 = 6561

However, exponent refers to a quantity representing the power in which other quantity is raised. Ordinarily, Exponents can be variables; they do not have to be just numbers or constant.

They are mostly positive whole numbers; exponents can be negative numbers, fractional numbers, complex numbers or irrational numbers.

We can also say exponent is the number of times that a particular number is multiplied by itself.
