The Guateque Campesino (which may be translated to peasant party) is the natural way in which a group of friends or neighbors gather toguether for a celebration in the Cuban countryside. This is an especial celebration where the peasant tunes sound to the beat of their typical instruments, where some of the basics are:
-maracas
-tres
-guiro
- string instruments such as the guitar or the laud
-bongo drum
As you can see, the piano is missing.
In this type of meetings a lot of food and coffee is served. In addition, it should be noted that these parties are accompanied by dances and music where a duo of singers follow an improvisation and entertain the people in the party.
