Why do you think England felt it was as problem when they learned the presence of French settlements in the valleys of the Ohio and Mississippi rivers?

Well, the countries England and France had been both major colonial powers who had wanted to be able to expand their holdings in North America. English settlements had been primarily located in the eastern part of back then which is now known as the United States. But, westward expansion into the Ohio and Mississippi valleys could be blocked by the French.
