The media has the ability to mobilize public opinion to influence government decisions. The media at the time was able to publish pieces that kept citizens informed of decisions made regarding the document, often with a bias and intention to influence the view of the public.
If the media as it exists today had existed at the time, The Founding Fathers would likely have had more trouble with the various compromises that took place during Constitution's construction. The public would be exposed in much greater detail and frequency to the various issues regarding the Constitution's construction, and the Founding Fathers would have been under much greater pressure from constituents to be less flexible in various details of the Constitution.
