After an organization achieves its goal and it no longer has a reason to continue but then it still continues anyway, there is this term we call goal displacement. When goal displacement occurs in a situation, new goals has been developed by completely disregarding the strategy, operational and tactical goal for the survival of the organization. It is also the situation wherein there is the act of unintentional goal in the original goal into a new goal. The organizational resources are diverted away from the organizational goal. Sometimes an organization has the tendency to substitute alternate goals for the goals the organization was established to serve. Often, the goals which are new serve the interest of the organization’s employees or leaders. The usual connotation that goal displacement is always negative is not true. This is beneficial especially during those cases where an organization’s original goal has been fully accomplished or is no longer necessary, the energy of the company in a sense should be directed elsewhere.
