During the revolution, just like during any other conflict, the complaints of a peasant and the complaints of a merchant would be very different. During this conflict, a peasant would most likely have complained about the rich classes. He might complain about local matters more than national ones, and particularly those related to agriculture. On the other hand, a merchant might have more of an international outlook. He would be bothered by issues in a larger scale. He also would have cared more about matters such as trade and infrastructure.
