But a problem arose, because there was not enough laborers for the big plantations, as most of the Native Americans died because of diseases that the Europeans spread. So the British decided to purchase slaves, and they did that on the coast of Western Africa, where they were buying slaves from the local stronger tribes, and after that were making the slaves work on their tobacco plantations.
