Taylor has four times more money then edrick. when taylor gave $3.00 to edrick, they had equal amounts of money. how much money did taylor and edrick have?

Edrick has 2$
And Taylor has 8$
I figured this out by just analysing numbers that when subtracted three would be equal. If you subtract 3 from Taylor’s amount it will equal 5. If you add 3 to Eddricks amount it will also equal 5. also 2x4 is 8 therefore it should be correct. CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG
